This page was created to let the public know of our upcoming, as well as, past events to help promote special clinics sponsored by other non-profit organizations who wish to participate in our special clinics program. This will help guarantee their success in curtailing pet overpopulation and the unnecessary killing of thousands of cats born into a system which cannot hold them.

Thursday, February 9, 2012: T.A.R.A., Inc. will be doing a spay/neuter clinic at Hi-Tor Animal Care Center in Pomona, NY. Please call the shelter at 845-354-7900 for pricing and to schedule an appointment. Pre-payment is required.
Thursday, February 23, 2012: T.A.R.A., Inc. will be doing a spay/neuter clinic for the Town of Montgomery and Will Spay Pets, Inc. Please call Will Spay Pets, Inc. at 845-857-7657 to schedule an appointment. Pre-payment is required.
Successful Events!
 Thursday, January 26, 2012: We spayed and neutered a total of 44 cats at Hudson Valley Humane in Pomona, N.Y. We want to say Thank You to all involved for making this another wonderful day for the cats!
Thursday, January 12, 2012: We spayed and neutered 54 cats at Hi-Tor Animal Care Center in Pomona, NY yesterday. We are very happy to be in collaboration with Hi-Tor in an effort to help curb the pet overpopulation problem in Rockland County. We want to say Thank You to all involved for making this another successful day for the cats! We look forward to the next clinic at Hi-Tor, which is scheduled for Thursday, February 9, 2012.
Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011: We spayed and neutered a total of 52 cats and 2 shelter dogs at Hi-Tor Animal Care Center in Pomona, N.Y. We had 27 females spayed and 25 males neutered. The 2 shelter dogs were 1 male and 1 female. We want to say Thank You to all involved for making this another successful day for the animals!
Thursday, November 10, 2011: We held another successful spay day at The Goshen Humane Society. The clinic was open to everyone and the cost was $65. per cat. We also neutered our first shelter dog, Toby, a Jack Russell mix, available for adoption at the shelter.
Thursday Oct. 27, 2011: We spayed and neutered a total of 73 cats at Hudson Valley Humane in Pomona, N.Y. The day was a great success! We had 38 females spayed and 35 males neutered. We want to say Thank You to all involved for making this another wonderful day for the cats!
Thursday, Oct.13, 2011: We held another spay day for the Town of Montgomery residents sponsored by The Town of Montgomery and Will Spay Pets, Inc. The day was a great success for all involved. The town residents got their cats spayed for $25.00. We did a total of 76 cats, 41 females and 35 males. Another good day for the Town of Montgomery, we are very happy to have their participation in our special program.
Thursday Sept. 29, 2011: We spayed and neutered a total of 82 cats at Hi-Tor Animal Care Center in Pomona, N.Y. The day was a great success and a new record was set for T.A.R.A., Inc. and staff. We had 51 females spayed and 31 males neutered. The coordination between the Hi-Tor staff and T.A.R.A. staff was amazing and everyone worked well together. We want to say Thank You to all involved for making this another wonderful day for the cats!
Thursday, June 23, 2011: We held another spay day for the Town of Montgomery residents sponsored by Will Spay Pets, Inc..
Thursday June 9, 2010: We spayed and neutered a total of 60 cats at Hi-Tor Animal Care Center in Pomona, N.Y.
Saturday, May 21, 2011: We held another spay day at Warwick Valley Humane Society. This clinic was open to everyone and the cost was $65.00 per cat. Residents of Chester and Warwick were eligible for a $50 rebate with proof of residence and receipt.
Thursday, April 14, 2011: We held another spay day for the Town of Montgomery residents and sponsored by Will Spay Pets, Inc.. We spayed and neutered 48 cats.
Friday, March 11, 2011: We held another very successful spay day sponsored by Will Spay Pets, Inc.
Thursday, October 28, 2010: We held another spay day sponsored by Will Spay Pets. It was free to residents of Montgomery, and we spayed and neutered 53 cats.
The September 30, 2010 clinic for the Town of Montgomery was a big success! It was $25.00 to residents through Will Spay Pets. We spayed and neutered 75 cats! T.A.R.A. received this letter from Will Spay Pets President, Diane:
Dear Steve and T.A.R.A Personnel,
 Thank you for another successful cat spay/neuter clinic on Sept. 30th at the Thruway Shopping Center. It's fantastic that T.A.R.A., The Town of Montgomery, and Will Spay Pets can come together to offer cat spay or neuter for $25.00. 75 cats were spayed or neutered that day despite heavy rain. That's a record for all of us. I look forward to working with you on Oct. 28th when Will Spay Pets Inc will be holding a special clinic. I didn't get many pictures as the weather wasn't conducive to picture taking. Lisa Dunn is in the picture. She's been to the T.A.R.A. clinic at the Thruway shopping center before and was happy to pose for us even if it meant getting wet. Thanks again, Diane, President, Will Spay Pets
TARA held another very successful spay day on May 20, 2010 sponsored by the Town of Montgomery and Will Spay Pets.
On April 22, 2010, we held another successful spay day at Hi-Tor Animal Care Center in Pomona, N.Y. As always we look forward to working with everyone there at our next spay day!
On April 10, 2010, we had another great spay day at Warwick Valley Humane Society.
On March 6, 2010, in honor of National Spay Day we held a clinic at the Thruway Market in Walden. This event was sponsored by the Town of Montgomery and Will Spay Pets. 30 males and 32 females were spayed and neutered. We look forward to holding many more successful events for them in the future.
On March 25, 2010, we held another successful spay day at Hi-Tor Animal Care Center in Pomona, N.Y. We spayed and neutered 63 cats in all. As always we look forward to working with everyone there at our next spay day!
2009 Events
T.A.R.A. held a spay day on December 10, 2009 at Blooming Grove Humane Society. T.A.R.A. received this letter from Shelter Director, Melissa Veraldo:
Rose, Steve and Staff of T.A.R.A.
Thank you so much for being at the Blooming Grove Humane Society on December 10, 2009, for our very first SPAY/NEUTER DAY. We were able to get forty seven cats spayed and neutered, and helped to educate our community on the NEED to spay and neuter. We were so impressed by Steve's organization of the entire event, and learned so much from him and the whole staff. They walked us through each and every step. Everyone was warm, and helpful. We look forward to many other spay/neuter events at our shelter. Thank you, for all that you do, for our cat community.

On October 29, 2009, we held a spay day at HI-TOR Animal Care Center, Inc. 62 surgeries were performed. T.A.R.A. received this letter from Vivian Kiggins, Executive Director:
Dear Rose, Steve and the Staff of T.A.R.A.,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for operating the T.A.R.A. mobile spay/neuter hospital at Hi Tor Animal Care Center on October 29, 2009. Your presence here was a huge success and was greatly appreciated by the cat caretakers and cat owners that participated.
The shelter staff and I were also pleased to have our animals altered ensuring our commitment to adopting out only sterilized pets for adoption. On behalf of the Board of Directors, Staff, Volunteers, and animals of Hi Tor, thank you again for operating the mobile unit at Hi Tor Animal Care Center. On October 17th, we had another great spay day at Warwick Valley Humane Society. We spayed and neutered 39 cats. T.A.R.A. received this letter from their president, Suzyn Barron:
Dear Steve, Rose and the terrific T.A.R.A. staff ~
The Warwick Valley Humane Society sends you tons of "appaws" for bringing your Mobile Clinic to our shelter facility in mid-October for the third round T.A.R.A. visits this year providing low cost spay/neuter for cats throughout our Warwick Valley. In total, over 160 cats were "fixed" by T.A.R.A., your truly dedicated and professional organization. You have our sincere gratitude for being able to work with you to reduce the overpopulation of cats and the associated needless suffering of countless kittens. T.A.R.A. has made a remarkable impact on our community and we look forward to seeing you parked in our shelter lot in 2010. Please continue doing what you do, because you got it right!

At our August 2nd clinic at ARF, we spayed and neutered 63 cats, 30 females and 33 males. TARA received this letter from Barbara Shea, president of ARF.
Our clinic on August 16th was a great success. Four TNR non-profit groups participated, and we spayed 30 females and 36 males, for a total of 66 cats. What a day!
This makes two of the special "Spay Days" we've committed to do because of a grant TARA received for this purpose. We look forward to providing the next and final event which concludes the grant. We are hoping to schedule it some time in October. Keep checking this site for details.
Our fundraiser/street fair in Elenville on August 23rd went very well. We raised more donations then expected, and had a lot of fun. We had volunteers helping, and they, too, enjoyed the event. We wish to thank all of the generous people who showed their support for our cause.
The September 11th clinic for the Town of Montgomery was a big success! It was free to residents. We spayed and neutered 64 cats - 31 females and 33 males!
On September 27th, 47 cats were spayed and neutered for the Goshen Humane Society, at their fundraiser event; 26 females and 21 males. TARA received this wonderful email from Goshen Humane Society President Rick Bossley:
"Thanks to the TARA Mobile Clinic our Spay/Neuter Clinic on 9/27/08 was a huge success. Forty seven cats were spayed or neutered at our clinic, and that equates to literally thousands of unwanted kittens not being brought into this world without a home. It is so important for people to spay or neuter their pets, and thankfully the TARA Mobile Clinic makes it affordable for everyone to have this procedure done at a reasonable cost."
